Morado is another name for Pau Ferro, right? LMI has it. |

Check out RC Tonewoods. If the Zootman doesn't carry it I'm sure he can steer you in the right direction. I'll bet he has it in stock...and it's always nice to support our sponsors. |

LMI is backordered on classical size, and they are in stock for jumbo. I just wondered if there are any other sources at this time for it. Yes, Morado is another name for Pao Ferro. |

Before you order Morado (and the stuff is really nice) ask for a scrap sample. Do a quick contact allergy test with the stuff by making some sawdust and rubbing it into your wrist and leaving it there for the afternoon. Morado is every bit as much as a contact allergen as Cocobolo so beware. I made my second acoustic (or tried) at Roberto Venn out of Morado. After thicknessing everything (and in those days the dust collection was the wind outside under the shed where the sanders were) I went home for the evening only to break out all over in sweaty plaques. The dermatologist said he hadn't seen a reaction that violent in 20 years of practice. Be forewarned! |
